Japanese cartoons have slowly become a bigger part of the American culture. One anime cartoon that crossed over into the United States was Naruto, which made its debut in September 2005. Naruto hit the top of the charts in the same ways as the other Japanese hit cartoon show, DragonBall. Due to its high popularity, Naruto started a merchandising line with different products to suit all children's needs.
Naruto is an anime cartoon, dubbed in English, about children ninjas.
The show takes the viewers through the children's experiences at the Ninja Academy, until their graduation where they are split up into squads and become junior ninjas. The show focuses on Squad 7: Sasuki Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki and Kakashi Hatake, with the main character as Naruto Uzumaki. The first series lasted nine seasons long; each one takes the viewer on Naruto's quest to become the best ninja around.Naruto merchandise is available for sale on the Internet. Naruto fans will find many different websites to buy an array of toys, games and collectibles. Most Naruto accessories can be found on the web from high to low prices, depending on the quality and demand of the item. The most popular piece of merchandise is Naruto DVDs. The websites offer many different deals on DVDs, including box sets or individual episodes. The Naruto Complete Box set is sold for $100 on the Japanimation website. Other box set DVDs sell for approximately $30 - $40 for three discs.
In the Naruto show, the main character is always wearing a headband. One can conclude Naruto fans asked for the headbands in high demand. The headbands are found on the Internet, and come in a variety of different colors such as royal blue, navy, black crack, black leaf, black sound and sand. The headbands range in price from $20-$30, depending on the color.
